Strengths/Skills 

Successful Designer/Maker business as Ruth Gibson Ceramics. Exhibiting on a National level at Ceramic Shows and events. Supplying Galleries and gift shops.

Completion of successful public art commissions working in brick and ceramics.

Project Management and lead artist of ‘Benchart’ a Community and Public Art     Project involving commissioning new public artworks, bus shelters and benches, organising and delivering a wide range of arts workshops, lectures and presentations.  Arts Council Funded   

Developed a strong working relationship with the brick industry and receive regular support, technical advice and sponsorship from Ibstock and Blockleys Brick.

Involved in various community arts projects, from organisation and fundraising to delivering ceramic, clay, eco-art and art and health workshops.

Key role in instigating, developing and project management of Cloud Gallery

Residencies, Commissions, Teaching:

2017 Moreton Hall Independent School - Introduction to print making on clay A level and GSCE art students

2017 Abraham Derby Academy, Madeley. Delivered  clay tile workshops. Installation at the main entrance to the school.

2017 Meres and Mosses Brick and Tile Project - created sculptural bench inlaid with tiles, Jubilee Park, Whitchurch, Shropshire. Workshops in schools and at Community events. Over 150 people involved.

2017 Impressions of the Past Project - Commission to create Oak and Ceramic Sculpture and deliver ceramics and poetry workshops to community groups, and schools, in indoor and outdoor settings.

2016 Delivered Ceramic Workshops at the International School "Ecole Jeannine Manuel'  Lille, France

2016  Jackfield Tile Project   Creating sculptural art work and a river of tiles with the community and schools

2013 Won 2nd Prize in the Shropshire Open with 'The Setting' - ceramic wall panel

2005 Arts Council England  -  Awarded Project Management and lead artist of Benchart 

2004 Arts Council England  -  Awarded funding to take part in A4E Environmental Art Trail

2003 University of Wolverhampton - Won The Potclay Award for Outstanding Work in Clay

2002/3 Open 02’ The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery - Won the Moorcroft Prize for Ceramics            

1997 Won the Materials Prize in the Shropshire Open
